MY TIPS for Buying Accessories That Make Any Outfit Look Like a MILLION BUCKS

There is something so fun and easy about blowing money on shoes or purses (even if you will never wear them) because you dont have to spend 20 minutes in a changing room to decide if it looks good on you. All shoes and accessories are fabulous on anyone so who wouldnt love to buy them? Because I love buying shoes and purses so much, that is what I spend the most money on.

$110 from Carlos Santana

Like most girls, I LOVE high heels because they make every outfit look SOOO much more flattering. Wearing heels makes your legs look longer (which is great for short girls like me), they help flatten your stomach and make your butt a tiny bit more perky (?? for lack of a better word). My grandmother always use to say that you can go out in a sub-par outfit but if you are wearing great shoes, the outfit looks like its worth a million bucks! I love to splurge on Betsey Johnson heels. I also love buying discounted designer heels on websites I find in google

My new obsession are the SUPER fabulous YSL platform pumps that usually retail for $800 or more, I like to buy them on various discount sites for a fraction of the price (usually about $100-150 a pair). I realize that is a bit of a splurge for one pair of shoes but they are TOTALLY worth saving up for. For that much of a discount, how could you not be tempted to wear the same shoes that celebs like Victoria Beckham and Kim Kardashian rock on a daily basis?

$20 and $28 at Forever21

I love stores like Forever21 and Charlotte Russe stores because you can spend very little on a new outfit and then go home and make it look way more glamourous with accessories. I LOVE to buy skirts (TUTUs ROCK) and then buy a few different tops to go with it (that way you have a bunch of new outfits in one easy purchase). You can never have too many wife beaters, they go with everything and you can layer stuff over the top of them for fall.

Me with Hey Monday. I am wearing a wife beater, one of the high waisted skirts (pictured above) and my Jessica Simpson gladiator Pumps (Below). Under flowy skirts like the ones above I usually wear shorts underneath so that if they wind blows, no one sees my bootay! Keep it classy ladies haha

I am a curvy girl (I have hips and am a tad bit busty) but I LOVE to accentuate my waste so I wear high waisted WIDE belts with a lot of my outfits. I also usually wear high waisted skirts or dresses when I go out.

Some staples you should have that help accentuate any look (whether its jeans or a dress):

$8 at Forever21

1)Thick high waisted belt. I suggest getting BLACK first because that is always slimming but you can also get fun colors too!

My mom and I at Warped. I am wearing a very plain romper with a black high waisted belt. The romper came with a tiny string belt but was really unflattering. Usually outfits that come with built in belts look cheesy so get rid of the old belt and replace it with something unique and flattering on you!

2)PUMPS. Black and nude are always good staples for any closet but getting funky colors like LIME, CHEETAH or RED an go with just about anything as well!

$59 Jessica Simpson

These Shoes are the most comfortable heels in the world! I wore them a ton over the summer because they didnt hurt even after 12 hours at Warped Tour!

3)Lots of Necklaces or bangles are great for adding a little extra to any outfit, without over doing the glitz

$6 Forever21

I wore the necklace above to my sponsorship meeting with Victoria from Cobra Starship. The dress (that I got from Forever21) shape was super cute but not very creative alone so I spiced it up and made it more form fitting with a belt. I also wore some black ALDO platform pumps  and purple tights from HUE :)

4)Red nail polish. Long fake nails are SOOOO out. Go out and buy a $2 bottle of red nail polish and keep your fingers and toes fabulously fashionable for less. Classic beauties like Marilyn Monroe and Betty Paige rocked short red nails, this is a trend that will never get old.

5)a NICE purse. I love HUGE purses because I carry a lot of stuff with me and they always look fab. I always carry tons of stuff like video cameras, flat shoes (for when my feet hurt from heels) and Tons of makeup OF COURSE! I suggest staying away from brands like  Juicy Couture and Coach. Those brands have become too mainstream for my taste, everyone and their mother carries those purses so try something funky and fresh!

$170. Betsey Johnson

6)Nice Loose fitted cardigan sweater. These open fronted loose sweaters are great with dresses or jeans and they add just a little bit of glam. I lovvvee this trend. You can also pair these with high waisted thick belts too and they look awesome!

$30 at Forever21 and $50 at Victorias Secret
For my interview with Broadway I wanted to be comfortable (for the show) so I wore a wife beater, a cardigan (from Express) and some jeans. I accessorized the simple look with some bangles.

Of course, then you should always try and put effort into your makeup and make it look awesome. That will always make an outfit look a lot more spiffy, if your makeup is kickin!

What trends do you really like?

Where do you shop for clothes?

What brand of accessories (shoes, purses) do you like the best?

How to look like the LIVING DEAD for Halloween this year!

I got my passion for makeup from my mom, who LOVES prosthetic makeup (and rocks at it). Growing up, it use to EMBARRASS me SOOO much when she would volunteer with the PTA every Halloween and dress up. Not only would she dress up but she would apply prosthetic witch noses and bloody scabs and warts all over. It grossed me out when I was younger but now I appreciate that she is the reason why I love makeup so much.

I love hearing everyone's makeup stories and tips and today I got some GREAT zombie makeup from Buzznet user "I'm on my way."

"How To Look Like A Creature Of The Night!"

By "I'm On My Way"

morninginthesun94.buzznet.com

"I've noticed that they're are a lot of journals on how to look uber cute for Halloween. Well, that's fine and dandy. But some of us aren't gonna be sailors or vampires or ballerinas. No, some of us are gonna throw cutesy out the window and go for strait up, shit-yourself-scary. What I'm doing this year is a little thing called ZOMBIE. You know, zombies? The walking dead? They supposedly eat brains? Yep.

Want to learn how to pull this bloody look off? Read below."

"(The eyes are a certain type of contacts, which you can order from websites like www.coastalcontacts.com.)

1. For the base, you don't want to look like a ghost like this poor girl, but you do want a whitish tone. Mix 2 parts white creme makeup (I use Rubies Creme Makeup, which you can buy for $2 at Wal Mart around the Halloween season) and 2 parts whatever foundation is for your skin tone. Keep in mind, you'll need quite a bit of it. Distribute it EVERYEHERE (yes, your eyelids too) evenly along your face and neck, along the neckline of whatever shirt you're wearing.

2. Apply a black eyeshadow along the creases of your eye, smudging it a bit so it blends with the foundation mix. (If you're strapped for cash, Covergirl shadow works. If you want a little better quality, I recommend Darla's Odyssey compact.)

3. Take a light grey and blend it along the outside of your eyes, taking an angle brush or Q-tip (I'm a Q-tip person myself -- did you know you can't stick those in your ear?) and lining underneath your eye.

4. When it comes to your eyes, this is where you can get creative past this picture. For a more rotten, diseased look (which I always love), yellow and red makeup crayons (again, $1 at wal mart for a good pack of 6) along the lashes gives a great virus look. But if you aren't going to order contacts, and hey, maybe you want to play up a little girly side to this, blues and greens make eyes pop beyond all of the black.

5. There's always the option of taking a 'tooth crayon' and coloring your teeth, to give them a rotten look (think of the teeth in pirate movies). DON'T. It tastes gross and never lasts long.

6. Now here's the fun part. It's like decorating the cake. Putting the gore on! Personally, I love the gashes and cuts. Above is a horrible example. Cheap blood, halfway dried, looks thrown on. I will say this once and only once: Fake skin is a Halloween girl's best friend. Ya heard? Latex-based fake skin smells horrible (think chocolate and dog sh*t), but when drying, dab at it with a makeup sponge and let it pull. It won't hurt, I swear. It makes good scars, rotten skin, etc.

7. This is my favorite part. Fake blood. Drench yourself in it! Why not? I personally don't like putting it on areas like my forehead or my nose, because it either ends up in my eyes or I'm snortin' it or something. Which isn't fun. A really cool thing to do is a masking trick. Use masking or painter's tape and make a clean, strait line across your cheek or neck. Take whatever bottle of blood you have and keep it close to the tape, and let it just drip an even stripe of blood. When you pull back the tape, you should have a clean line.

8. For hair, I recommend not washing it the day before you go out to hold whatever style you're going to do. I plan on briding chunks of my hair and slicking in some gel for a slick, grungy look.

Look, you can be the cutest little thing at the Halloween party, but are you the most creative? Guys like creative girls. And what's more creative than a blood-drenched zombie?

Well, probably a lot."

Halloween is by far my FAVORITE holiday of the year but I NEVER know what to be. I am into scary stuff but I dont like gory makeup on myself (I leave that to my mom) however, I also dont want to dress like a Playboy Bunny. Maybe I should be something funny like a carrot?
What are all of you going to be for Halloween??
What is your favorite makeup tip?

Thanks again Jess for the great advice!

VickyT from Cobra Starship is now sponsored by Darla Makeup :)

A few weeks ago we got an email from Cobra Starship's managers asking if we would send Victoria some Darla Makeup.. We were so excited so of course we said yes. Over the weekend we were invited to meet up with Victoria and I also interviewed her. We chatted about the makeup and we learned about how much of an animal lover she was.

My mom and I have always wanted a pot belly pig that lived in our house and we found out that VickyT had one when she was growing up! How cute is that.

They were awesome live and you should definitely try and check them out on the tour they are on right now with Boys like girls, The Maine and of course another band we support VERSAEMERGE!

I think I might be getting sick, which is sort of a bummer.. I hope I dont get the swine again!

I am going to start doing video makeup tutorials again, what makeup tips would you guys like??

What other bands do you think should wear Darla Makeup?

Any strange pets that you have always wanted?

There's a party in the Rave pool all night long

Last weekend I went to see some friends from Breathe Carolina preform at the Rave and interview the band IRival (Dance Rawr Dance Tour III). I had never heard of them til my interview, but they are super good and you should check them out! They are also super sweet boys!

Myspace.com/IRivalRock

I will have my funny interview with them up soon.

We ended up having a goofy party down in the haunted basement of the Rave. It was super fun. There was so much moisture in the air though that I kept slipping and falling on the pool slope. Basically, I have bruises the size of texas on my booty!

Greg (IRival), some people I dont know?, David (Breathe Carolina), Alaina, Me and Ziggy in the Pool

David, Alaina, Ziggy and Me in the Pool

Ps, Check out the new Alternative Press Magazine because Sierra from VersaEmerge talks about Darla Makeup

"Darla Makeup is the only makeup that I wear"- Sierra

Thank you Sierra! You are too sweet!

It seems like tons of bands are breaking up or regrouping.. Chiodos, VersaEmerge.. actually I guess that its HAHA

What do you think of bands replacing members?

Do you like my hair better the bright orange or the regular red color?
