Surprises In Our Back Yard

My mom and I have been feeding wild life for as long as I can remember. We feed about 70 wild turkeys every day, an opossum, some raccoons, a muskrat and just recently three baby deer (we think they are triplets because they are always together). We also have two ducks that hair their babies in by our pond every year!

All the animals are so comfortable with us that they come to our back door to beg for food :) Of course being the saps that we are we always feed them. What's nice about this though is that they dont dig through our trash because they aren't hungry!

I love all animals and I think it's important for people to realize that their lives are just as important as ours!

The other day a female turkey brought all of her babies into our yard, for turkeys to show their babies shows trust because they are very private animals. We thought this was awesome, they are really cute!

If all goes well this weekend I am interviewing Irival and Owl City (WHO I LOVE!)

I am excited :)

Otherwise, Cash Cash and Breathe Carolina will be in town and it will be so nice to see all of them! What nice boys!

Do you feed any wild animals? See any cute animals by your house?

A Fun Weekend & My New Orange Hair :)

So last weekend I went to the Broadway, Enter Shikari and The Bled Show in Milwaukee. I interviewed Broadway which was a total blast, what a funny bunch of guys!

ps, thats my new hair color :)

Later on I got to meet up with Rou, Rory and Chris from Enter Shikari, it was so nice seeing them again (I interviewed them a few months ago). What NICE BOYS! I ended up going to a party with them and it was super fun, they are hilarious. We were up all night laughing and jumping the fence to the pool that was closed for the night. The security guard was not very happy!

Rou and Rory

After staying up all night we all ended up going to down to Chicago to see them play again, which was exhausting. They are INCREDIBLE live though, I definitely recommend them!

Why The HECK didnt anyone tell me this!?!

So the other night I was up literally all night working on a press kit and was watching music videos. That music video for Drakes song "Best I ever had" came on. I was watching it and was completely puzzled as to why Drake would hire the kid from Degrassi to play him in his music video. I thought, maybe Drake is really ugly and wanted a body double? So I decided to google Drake.. and I realized.....

DRAKE is AUBREY GRAHAM who played JIMMY on DEGRASSI!!!!

Now, I am not the biggest fan of that song, but I was IN LOVE with Aubrey for a lot of high school and middle school.. so this is pretty freaking awesome!

WHAT A BABE!

Its nice that when he was done with Degrassi he didnt fall into obscurity..

DID YOU KNOW IT WAS THE SAME GUY!?!

why didnt anyone tell me this!?

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT: Congrats To Corirayne For The Best Makeup Tip

Hey Everyone!

This contest was tough to judge and thank you all for participating!

After much debate the winner is  Corirayne for her makeup tips for the Leighton Meester Picture!

Corirayne's advice was great and straight to the point :)

"I would smoke it up a bit and apply nude pink lipstick.

To get Leighton's look;

FACE: Apply medium converage foundation and conealer and set it with a translusant powder. Apply a sheer golden blush.

EYES: Apply a shimmery grey shadow all over the lid. Then appy a slightly darker grey in the crease. Line the top and lower lashline with eye kohl and smudge it. Apply a generous amount of mascara to the top and bottom lash line. Fill the brows in lightly.

LIPS: Take a brick red lipliner and line and fill the lips. Apply a generous amount of gold sparkly red gloss."

Thanks to everyone who participated! We will be having another contest soon!

Congratulations Corirayne I will get your makeup out to you asap!

You won our very popular EyeLights Collection as well as some of our popular Tools and one of my favorite lip glosses :)

Love and Lipgloss,

Just Kait, Scaring Clowns and Makeup Contest

So last week I was invited to the Video Music Awards Tour at 6 flags in Chicago to interview "Just Kait" who is a 17 year old girl who can literally play any instrument and has great music!

myspace.com/JustKait

She was super nice and I had a good time interviewing her. Her music has been on MTV a ton and also E!, which is how I had first heard of her. She and I were talking about our biggest fears, and we are both afraid of clowns. Recently 50 Cent's new song "okay, you're right" was released and he wears a clown mask in the music video, ITS HORRIFYING!

Jeeze, I hate clowns! I cant even watch that music video all the way through, even though I like the song.

On another note, I decided against becoming blonde. Its just not me, so instead I am now Bright orange with yellow highlights. I will post some pictures soon!

Next week I am interviewing Every time I Die in Chicago, which should be fun! I am definitely looking forward to that.

The other night I was watching music videos and Owl City came on. I had heard of this guy before but had never listened, I am officially a HUGE fan and I think hes a super babe!

Hopefully tomorrow I will be announcing the winner of my makeup contest! I was very impressed with quite a few of your entries, thank you all for participating! I will keep you posted on the results!

What fears do you have? are you afraid of clowns?

What other bands should I interview?

Blonde Makeup Expert?!

So last week I decided that I am going to change my hair color to red. Its a HUGE step for me since I have been a red head for years. Unfortunately, my goal in being a red head was to be different but I think red hair is getting to common so Im gunna switch it up. What do you all think?

Last week I was featured on Avon.com as a "Beauty Expert" Which is pretty cool!

Today has been crazy, we finally finished up picking colors and naming them. We are including a whole lot more matte eyeshadows in this new line! I am pretty excited.

We are naming all of the colors things that are important to me, like names of our pets. We will then have a story that goes along with every color :)

What eyeshadow colors would you like to see in the new line? What lipgloss colors?

Have you ever changed your hair color drastically?

My Children My Beard and One Crazy Night

Over the weekend I went to the Thrash and Burn Tour in Milwaukee to interview My Children My Bride and Veil of Maya. I have known a few of the members of Veil for years so it was nice to finally see them again.

Everything went smoothly with MCMB but when it came to start interviewing Veil of Maya it was midnight and everyone was in party mode. The video went from a boring interview to a very hilarious video featuring a few other funny characters from Emmure, MCMB and Oceano.

It also included Steve (a promoter from Milwaukee) Dancing Naked and peeing on the street. This ended up being one of the funniest nights of my life.

Make sure to check out all of these bands on myspace!

myspace.com/MCMB

myspace.com/VeilofMaya

myspace.com/Emmure

and stay tuned for the video, which will be up soon!

Do you have any funny experiences with friends that you caught on tape?

What other bands should I interview?

Muff is Short for Muffin

As you all know I work for Substream Music press interviewing bands on video (more videos will be posted soon). I absolutely love it and I have become friends with some of the best people through this experience. One group of boys that was absolutely hilarious was The Color Morale (Rise Records). They live near me and I went to go interview them at a local show one night.

Steve and I

They were hilarious and probably one of the funniest interviews ever

This was after Jon (the one in the tank) let one rip haha

Justin and I are birthday Twins!

Unfortunately my new puppy Brenna ate the HD Disk that all my footage from this interview was on! AHHHH. I am so upset! So I have to set this interview up again.

Brenna is about 9 months old and shes a Corgi. I absolutely adore her because she is the cutest thing ever, but she is a demon.. So we call her Demon Muff (we call all of our pets "muff"). Muff is short for Muffin, not referring to a cooter. Yes we are weird

Unfortunately I also lost my interview with Attack Attack (Rise) Due to the demon above

Luckily Attack Attack and the Color Morale are going to be going on tour with each other soon so Il redo the interviews for all of ya.

This weekend I am interviewing Veil of Maya and My Children My Bride. A few of the members use to be in a band called "Mirror Mirror" from Chicago. When I was in high school I use to set up shows at venues in Milwaukee and use to book them all the time. It will be nice to see them after all these years!

Even though I love my mufficita (another name I call my baby muffin, instead of Mamacita) I am very sad to have lost these interviews. I have many others coming up.

I also have 2 other dogs, 2 cats, 2 peacocks and 3 horses.

Do you guys have any pets? have they ever eaten anything important to you?

What bands would you like me to interview? and what kind of questions?

Its Better to Have Loved & Lost, Then to Have Never Loved at All

This past week was a whirlwind of change and emotion for me. For the last 8 months I have been dating someone who I cared about tremendously but I decided to end it for many reasons. Even though I was the one who ended it, I still was terribly sad. Its strange how something that is good for you can be so painful but he just wasnt the guy for me.

I also let go of a good friend of mine because I realized how dumb I have been. She was surrounded with lies and I dont need that in my life.

If you all couldnt tell I am a bit of a workaholic. I have reached a point in my life where I would much rather have 1 or 2 good friends and spend most of my time dedicated to my work then be surrounded by fake people. I am the type of person who gets along with everyone but only is close with a small group.

On a positive note, I am very lucky to have a few really great friends and a great support system for the amazing adventure that is about to happen in my life. Last week we finalized all of our new packaging (I will show you guys soon!) and I signed with my new manager out of Los Angeles.

Today I got about 200 eyeshadow samples in the mail so we can start finalizing what our new line will look like! Currently I am TOTALLY obsessed with nude lipstick and gray matte eyeshadows. SUPER POPULAR FOR FALL AND WINTER! Originally we only had really intense neon colors but our new line is filled with everything that you will need to look great for school and just hanging out with friends. DONT WORRY, we are still keeping a lot of our neons but I felt it was important to broaden the line and make it more mature.

What colors do you want in the new line? anything in particular?

Have you ever had to let go of someone/something in your life and it was super hard but the right thing to do?

PS! make sure you enter my makeup contest with your chance to win $200 worth of free makeup!

Warped Tour 2009 Mania

This past weekend was INSANE. I went to the Chicago and Milwaukee Warped Tour dates and worked about 14 hours straight both days. Milwaukee was my big interview day for Substream Magazine and I interviewed about 10 bands all together (Underoath, The Maine, All Time Low, Cash Cash, and others). In Chicago I interviewed the band Every Avenue which was a total blast.

I also did an interview with the woman who is working for Amethyst Jeans. I dont know if you guys have heard of them at all, but they are handing out 600 pairs of jeans every day at Warped! I was pretty convinced that the jeans were going to be cheap crap jeans but I actually REALLY like them! I will definitely purchase a pair later :)

My mom came with me to the Milwaukee Warped because she spent the day with VersaEmerge (one of the bands we sponsor) cutting their hair. It was actually a ton of fun to have my mom there. I never thought I would be 20 years old going to warped with my mother! haha

At the Chicago date I hung out with Versa most of the day, what a NICE bunch of people. Go out and support them, they are very talented and some of the nicest people you will meet!

I will have tons of pictures and video interviews up soon for all of you!

What bands have you met that you think are really nice?

What bands did you want to see at Warped This year?
