Darla 911:Makeup Advice

We judge people on the arrangements of their features and their style. Care to tell me that you don't? Well, I would say that you might not judge your friends on their beauty, but you certainly pick up a magazine cover or check out a musician on stage and say "damn that girl looks awful in that outfit" or "wow what was she thinking wearing that much eyeshadow". This round of ScarletMadeline's Makeup Mastermind I will be looking at Kat Von D and Sabina Kelley.

Kat Von D:

Kat Von D's looks is very creative and hot. Kind of a metal chic pin up look mixed. If you want to pull off this look start out with filling your eyebrows (of course). If you are going to try and pull off the pin up look filling your eyebrows is a MUST. Next take a shimmery white eyeshadow and put it all over your eyelid up to your brows (helps define the brows).

Take a matte dark brown eyeshadow and start out blending it on the outer corner of your eye. Then blend it into the middle of your eye from the crease down. Make sure to then blend the same brown shadow under your eye. I would then take a black liquid liner and draw a liner on the top of your lash line. Then take a very thin black line and draw it on the crease of your eyelid and pull it out into a mini cat eye. To finish off the add add some black pencil liner to the bottom of your eye and add mascara. To define your cheek bones add some blush under the your cheek bones. Kat is wearing an orange red lipstick. I like this color a lot but I dont like that her makeup artist didnt stay with in her lips when she drew the lip pencil on. This is a pretty common practice among makeup artists to make lips look bigger, to me it just looks silly.

Sabina Kelley:

I think Sabina is amazing. I have a huge love for new age pin up girls with tattoos. This picture is beautiful (by Viva Van Story) and I love the pink tons in her makeup.To start out fill in those brows and take a shimmery white shadow all over your eye lid (I do this with almost every look I wear). Add a light pink and blend it from above your crease down (make sure to pull it into a cat eye by using a tissue or a credit card as a straight edge). Then I would take a very dark plum color and apply it to the crease of your eye (just a line) and blend it into the pink a bit. To finish off the eye apply that same pink under your eye, add black liquid liner to your lash line, black pencil liner to the bottom and finish off with mascara. Next apply a pink to the lower part of your cheek bones and add a dark pink lipstick.

This look is hard to pull off because there is so much pink (which can make fair girls look like they have pink eye). If you can pull it off though, you will look smokin'!
